Phase 4

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (Disney+ Tv Series)

Director: Kat Coiro, Anu Valia

Writer: Jessica Gao

Have you heard of the new Hulk in town? Tatiana Maslany plays She-Hulk in this upcoming live-action Disney+ tv series. She-Hulk, aka Jennifer Walters, who is a talented lawyer, inherits the Hulk’s powers after she receives a blood transmission from her cousin, Bruce Banner, aka Hulk.

The major focus in this series will be on how She-Hulk adapts to her new lifestyle. She-Hulk tangling between her professional work and superhero duties will be worth watching. In his Professor Hulk form, Bruce Banner will be a worthy mentor for She-Hulk.

And don’t forget that She-Hulk works in court. Do you know another superhero who is a lawyer? Yes, you guessed it right. Matt Murdock, aka our favorite superhero Daredevil, will also appear in this series which makes the show a thousand times better.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (Live action movie)

Director: Ryan Coogler

Writer: Ryan Coogler, Joe Robert Cole

It would be just to say that everyone was skeptical about how the Black Panther franchise will carry on after the untimely demise of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman. However, the official teaser released by Marvel at the SDCC was a great sigh of relief.

The teaser was as majestic as a teaser can be. Probably the best teaser Marvel has ever produced. We can expect a heartfelt send-off to Chadwick Boseman in the movie, which will surely be enough to make us emotional. The teaser also officially introduced the Atlantians to the MCU. The struggle of Wakanda to save itself from the Atlantians and Humans will be worth every penny.

Letitia Wright(Shuri), Angela Bassett ( Ramonda), Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Winston Duke(M’Baku), and Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross) will return in their respective role from the first film. Tenoch Huerta, aka Namor The Submariner, will also make his much anticipated MCU debut. We also got a short glimpse of the new Black Panther in the teaser. Who is it? Only time will tell.

Phase 5

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (Live action movie)

Director: Peyton Reed

Writer: Jack Kirby, Jeff Loveness

The Ant-Man franchise’s third installment will officially kick-off the Phase 5 of MCU. Paul Rudd( Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly( The Wasp), and Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) will return to reprise their respective roles. Also, Cassie Lang, played by Kathryn Newton, is grown up and all set to join the Ant-Man team.

Quantumania will be a spectacular journey full of adrenaline rush and boundless madness. Unlike the first two installments, which were more light-hearted undertakings, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will be a far more serious movie. The father-daughter relationship between Scott and Cassie looks sprained, the rescue mission will be far more dangerous, and everything will be on the line.

Psychic Modok will make his appearance in the MCU. However, Kang The Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, is expected to be the movie’s main antagonist. “You’re an Avenger? Have I killed you before?” is all you need to hear to understand the level of threat Ant-Man and his team will face in the Quantum Realm.

Secret Invasion (Disney+ Tv Series)

Director: Thomas Bezucha, Ali Selim

Writer: Kyle Bradstreet

Yes, you heard it right. Nick Fury finally has his Disney+ series. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Secret Invasion is the most unpredictable Marvel project right now. Since MCU has completely altered Skrull’s comic arc as they are portrayed on the good side in the Captain Marvel movie, it is very hard to predict the plot of Secret Invasion.

What we can guess from the trailer at SDCC is that Nick Fury will return to earth after staying in space for 3 years due to a dangerous threat. Skrulls may change sides in the series, or some Skrulls may be inherently evil. We may also get to know more about Nick Fury’s past. The story is unclear as of now, and we will only know about it once the series is available on the streaming platform.

However, one official thing is that Emilia Clarke will be making her much anticipated MCU debut in the series. Cobie Smulders ( Maria Hill), Ben Mendelsohn ( Talos), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Martin Freeman ( Everett K. Ross), and Olivia Colman (the character not revealed) are the other cast members who will appear in the series.

Secret Invasion will be one of the darkest Marvel series ever. Who is Nick Fury? What is the role of Skrull’s in MCU? How will incursion lead to Secret Wars? In Secret Invasion, these questions will most likely be answered.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 (Live-action movie )

Director: James Gunn

Writer: James Gunn, Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning

Everything as we know it is going to change in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3. James Gunn has confirmed that Vol. 3 will be the last time we will see the group together. Though Chris Pratt( Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana( Gamora), Dave Bautista ( Drax), Bradley Cooper( Rocket ), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan( Nebula ), and Pom Klementieff( Mantis ) will return, not all will survive the challenge they will face in this third installment.

The film’s plot is still unclear. The Guardians will most probably go on a journey to search for Gamora, where they will encounter the sociopathic villain High Evolutionary. The film will also note the debut of Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock. All we know for sure from SDCC is that the film will reveal the heart-wrenching story of Rocket. It has been teased that Rocket has one of the saddest story arcs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, prepare your popcorn and be ready for this emotion-packed ride.

Echo (Disney+ Tv Series)

Director: Sydney Freeland, Catriona McKenzie

Writer: Marion Dayre, Amy Rardin

Alaqua Cox’s Echo made her MCU debut in the Disney+ Tv series Hawkeye. And soon after, Marvel announced a spinoff series for the character. In the new series, Cox will reprise the role of Maya Lopez & she will embark on a journey to reconnect with her past.

Zahn McClarnon will return as William Lopez, Echo’s father in the series. Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock will also play a part in the series. Is there anyone on the planet who will miss a show comprising Daredevil and Kingpin? I don’t think so.

The Marvels (Live-action movie)

Director: Nia DaCosta

Writer: Gene Colan, Roy Thomas, Megan McDonnell

Are you excited for The Marvels after watching the post-credit scene of the Disney+ series Ms.Marvel? Everyone is hyped up for the upcoming sequel of Captain Marvel. But, very little is known about what the movie has in store for us.

Brie Larson will be back as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, in this second installment of the Captain Marvel franchise. But as the title suggests, The Marvels will not be a solo adventure for Captain Marvel like we have seen in the first film. Teyonah Parris ( Monica Rambeau) and Iman Vellani ( Ms. Marvel) will join hands with Captain Marvel in this upcoming blockbuster to form the scintillating ‘The Marvels’ team.

We have no idea what new adventure Carol Danvers will embark upon in this new movie.

She may fight against her former Kree mates or embark on a completely new journey. From the post-credit scene, all we know is that whatever she, along with her team, will do in this movie will be worth the hype.

Loki, Season Two (Disney+ Tv Series)

Director: Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead

Writer: Eric Martin

No Marvel series can beat Daredevil! This was a popular opinion before the release of Loki season one. Loki season one is probably the only other Marvel tv series that can give tough competition to the Daredevil series. Season one was almost perfect, and season two is, therefore, one of the most anticipated upcoming Marvel tv series.

Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, will face the consequences of the betrayal by Sylvie ( Sophia Di Martino). Owen Wilson (Mobius), along with the newcomer Rafael Casal will also play a major role in the series. TVA will be more brutal than ever, and we will witness one of the terrifying versions of Kang the Conqueror. And perhaps Loki Season two will give us the answer of what is the role of Loki in the multiverse saga.

Blade (Live-action movie)

Director: Bassam Tariq

Writer: Stacy Osei-Kuffour

Still waiting for Vampires in the MCU? The wait will end soon. Marvel Studios announced in 2019 that they would be rebooting the Blade franchise, which excited every ’90s kid. Now we’ve an official release date for it, 3rd November 2022.

Mahershala Ali will take on the mantle of Blade in this upcoming action-thriller. The Blade is a terrifying vampire hunter. So, the movie will most certainly introduce vampires to the MCU. Blade’s little chat with Dane Whitman( Kit Harrington) certainly creates a link between him and the Black Knight. We will be in for a treat if the new Blade is anything like its predecessors.

Ironheart (Disney+ Tv Series)

Director: Sam Bailey, Angela Barnes

Writer: Brian Michael Bendis, Mike Deodato Jr., Chinaka Hodge, Eve Ewing

Marvel announced in the year 2020 that they were developing a Disney+ series called Ironheart. Ironheart, just like Tony Stark, is a genius engineer who creates an advanced suit of armor like the Ironman suit. And, we finally got the first glimpse of Ironheart, played by Dominique Throne in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer.

From the first look, it can be configured that Ironheart will be a Wakanda. She is briefly seen hammering her heart-shaped logo out of a metal sheet in the trailer. Couleé, Anthony Ramos, and Alden Ehrenreich will be the cast of Ironheart. No details are revealed about their roles and the series’ story. The only thing we as a fan can do right now is speculate.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos (Disney+ Tv Series)

Director: TBA

Writer: Jac Schaeffer

In the upcoming series, Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha after getting worldwide acclamation in the Disney+ tv series, WandaVision. While the Scarlet Witch defeated her at the climax of the series, she is still alive. And the tragic climax of Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness might pave the way for Agatha’s return.

Not much is known about the series. The only cast member that is officially revealed is Kathryn Hahn as Agatha. Since there is more than a year for its release, we can safely assume that we will get to know more about the series in the coming months. If Emmy-nominated Kathryn Hahn can replicate her performance, then Agatha: Coven of Chaos will be a treat to watch for the fans.

Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+ Tv Series)

Director: TBA

Writer: Matt Corman, Chris Ord

Yes! You read it right. The fan-favorite Marvel character Daredevil will return with his tv series. The superhero will face the massive challenge of Kingpin again in this soft reboot of the original Daredevil series.

Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock( Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk ( Kingpin) will reprise their respective roles. The Daredevil fans can finally return from their mourning state and enjoy this superhero action-thriller. And Kevin Feige announcing that there will be 18 episodes in the series was the icing on the cake for the Daredevil fans.

Captain America: New World Order (Live action movie)

Director: Julius Onah

Writer: Dalan Musson, Malcolm Spellman

The Disney+ Tv series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier instated Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as the new Captain America. And the new Captain America was always destined for a lead big-screen role. Marvel unveiled the title for the new Captain America movie, Captain America: New World Order, at SDCC.

While there are many speculations and rumors surrounding the movie’s cast, the only star confirmed for now is Anthony Mackie only. However, it would be a surprise if Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Wyatt Russell( John Walker), and Emily VanCamp ( Power Broker) don’t show up in the movie. There must be Chaos first to establish a new world order, and Captain America: New World Order promises just that.

Thunderbolts (Live action movie)

Director: Jake Schreier

Writer: Eric Pearson

One of the most anticipated revelations done by Marvel at the SDCC was the announcement of an anti-heroes movie, Thunderbolts. Thunderbolts will officially mark the end of Phase 5 of the MCU.

In the comics, Thunderbolts was founded by Baron Zemo. While there may be slight changes, the original storyline is expected to be the same. In MCU, Baron Zemo always wanted a world free of Superheros. But, he never achieved this dream, and this may motivate him to control a group of anti-heroes. However, the group members will be very different from their comic book counterparts. Julia Louis-Dreyfus(Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), Wyatt Russell( John Walker), Florence Pugh(Yelena Belova), Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster), along with some new characters might appear in the movie. We had to wait two years for the movie, and only time will tell if the wait was worth it.

Phase 5

Fantastic Four (Live-action movie)

Director: TBA

Writer: TBA

The Fantastic Four will finally make their big-screen return after 9 years. We have seen Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. And is, therefore, most likely that John Krasinski will reprise his role as Mr. Fantastic in the movie. However, it will certainly be a different version of Reed Richards than that was shown in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. But, there is no confirmation about the director and the cast that will be part of the movie. For now, we can wait for further details; hopefully, marvel will reveal something soon.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (Live-action movie)

Director: TBA

Writer: TBA

“Avengers Assemble.” It has been 3 years since we’ve heard this line. But the wait for an Avengers movie is finally coming to an end. Avengers will assemble again in the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which will release in the summer of 2025.

As the name suggests, Kang the Conqueror will be the movie’s main protagonist, and the rest of the Avengers will try to defeat him. He who remains will be the next Avengers-level threat after Thanos. Though we know very little about Kang the Conqueror, as Kang himself tells in the Loki series, there are much more powerful and evil versions of Kang that the world is unprepared for. We will get to see more of Kang the Conqueror in the upcoming marvel movies and series to know more about the level of threat the Avengers will face. However, one certain thing is that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be a spectacle to watch.

Avengers: Secret Wars (Live-action movie)

Director: TBA

Writer: TBA

Marvel never fails to surprise us. While one Avenger movie was a big deal, Marvel went even further to announce the second Avengers movie, which will officially mark the end of the Multiverse Saga. The story of Secret Wars in Comics sees a villain called The Beyonder sending our heroes & villains to a planet known as Battleworld, in which they were trapped in an eternal battle. It’ll be fascinating to see how Marvel will pull off two Avengers movies in six months. But, if the movie is anything equivalent to its Comic version, then Secret Wars will be an extravaganza we have never witnessed before on the big screen.

What To Expect

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has provided us with a wonderful cinematic experience during the last one and a half decades. And, certainly, it is not slowing down anytime soon.

The Multiverse Saga promises a journey full of emotion, excitement, and madness. While the first few films of Phase 4 didn’t live up to expectations, they did a very good job of setting up the stage for future MCU movies and tv series. While the current revealed projects look appealing, there is a lot more in store that Marvel has not revealed yet. We can expect movies like Shang-Chi 2, X-Men, and Deadpool 3 in the hidden Phase 6 spaces.

Hopefully, we will get to know more details about the upcoming Marvel projects at the D23 fan expo, which takes place this year. Till then, enjoy the upcoming releases and wait for some amazing announcements.
